LOCATED IN

My inspiration is drawn from travels around the United States and Europe. I often dream at night about what direction to take my paintings. Meditation, journaling, music, and incense lighting help to get my creative juices flowing. I never know where my work will take me but it is always a fun journey.

My paintings are about spreading hope, joy, and love into the world - both for myself and others. I often say, not only did I find art; art found me. And my wish is that my paintings are a physical reminder that there is love after loss, joy after sadness, and hope after grief.

A woman’s home is her nest, filled with things that feel joyful, peaceful, and comforting. My work is intended as a reminder that loving oneself is the greatest love of all.

That there is love after loss, joy after sadness, and hope after grief.

My paintings are a physical reminder

I doodled and painted as a child but didn’t have access to art lessons. After a 15 year career in biomedical research and teaching, I chose to become a stay at home mom to my young children. While I missed the intellectual stimulation from work, I began to experiment with paints and charcoal. I learned about color and the importance of value in making paintings come alive. I read books and watched videos to educate myself. Dabbling first in watercolors and pastels, I learned how to paint realistically.

After visiting Giverny, France and experiencing Claude Monet's home I have been drawn to the French Impressionistic painters. This was the place my love of landscapes and particularly colorful abstract landscapes, was born.

I'm HERE TO BRING THAT SAME JOY TO YOU AND YOUR HOME THROUGH MY ARTWORK

About 15 years ago, I had a major shift in thinking. I repeatedly reminded myself to focus on things that bring me joy. This mindset shift arose after my husband suddenly became a paraplegic. I needed an outlet for my fears so I turned to art making.

Pouring my feelings out onto a canvas - It is a freeing experience. It is also a very vulnerable one. I liken it to standing naked in a room full of strangers!

Nevertheless, painting daily is my therapy, my respite, and my way of communicating with women who are searching for joy and hope.

I knew something had to change - and that was me. I found joy and expression in a new medium

change is possible.

I have purchased several of Nancy’s paintings and I often get compliments on how beautiful they look in our living room. They compliment my existing accessories and add such fabulous color! Nancy was so easy to work with. She listened to my ideas and created just what I wanted
